Tied into the tradition of figurative sculpture, Jemma is building a considerable body of work which is moving her towards a reputation for being one of the most exciting portrait sculptors working in the UK today

Like so many in the artistic field, as a youngster, Jemma emerged with an irrepressibly creative streak in her nature, in her case always leaning towards three dimensional form. Always encouraged by enthusiastic teachers during her schooling, she decided very early on to become a sculptor. This determination was later affirmed when she had the opportunity to meet both Henry Moore at his studios at Much Hadham and later, before her untimely death, Dame Elizabeth Frink.
